X-ray Scattering Facility
About The Core
The X-ray Scattering Facility at the University of Windsor, housed in the Essex Centre of Research (CORe), is a premier facility offering a comprehensive suite of X-ray diffraction and scattering services for academic and industrial partners.
Our facility provides tailored solutions, including:
- Advanced Phase Analysis: Perform qualitative and quantitative assessments to understand material composition and phase purity.
- Crystal Structure Determination: Use state-of-the-art equipment for precise crystal structure analysis.
- Specialized X-ray Diffraction Experiments: Collaborate with our experts to design experiments that address specific research and industry challenges. Conduct experiments under various non-ambient temperature and pressure conditions to study polymorphism, thermal expansion, and more.
- Publication-Ready Data Preparation: Get expert assistance in preparing comprehensive data sets and analyses that meet publication standards.
- Tailored Training and Education: Empower your team with comprehensive training programs and workshops.
Equipped with three powder diffractometers (Bragg-Brentano and transmission geometry) and a single-crystal diffractometer (Mo/Cu dual source), our facility ensures versatility and precision in experimental applications. We offer access to modern structural databases (COD, ICSD, CSD) and cutting-edge software for data processing, ensuring comprehensive analysis and interpretation.
Whether enhancing material properties, verifying product quality, or exploring new innovations, our X-ray Scattering Facility is committed to delivering solutions that drive your success. Partner with us to access leading-edge technology and expertise that elevate your research and development projects.
